How to Select the Best Video Background
Whether you are in a video shoot or are having a video conference, the background you choose is more important than you may think. Many times, people choose to go with natural surroundings only to realize that they have displayed things that shouldn’t have shown in public. If you make the right choice and opt for video backgrounds, here are some of the things you should consider before choosing your ideal background.
Its motion shouldn’t be too fast
You wouldn’t want to make it tough for people to focus on you due to distractions caused by the background. This is only possible when the background you are using is standstill or doesn’t move too fast. When using backgrounds that involve motion, make sure to scrutinize them to ensure that they aren’t moving fast to the extent that it hard to concentrate on the video. This will also make it possible for people to see text that you may display on the screen.
Your presentation and background should complement each other
The background you select should be in line with your presentation or else it might put off your audience. It is important to choose a background that does not conflict with the views your audience holds or their moral grounds. You should, instead, go for backgrounds that will help you communicate your message very clearly.
Go for a design that isn’t cluttered
Solid backgrounds tend to work best with videos since they allow you to see every aspect. On the other hand, very busy backgrounds may interfere with the text display among other elements, making it hard for your audience to figure it out. With an uncluttered background, not only will you be enhancing your video presentation, but also making it eye catching.
Use looping only when necessary
Looping isn’t always ideal unless it can be used to convey your message much better than a solid background. However, make sure that the loops you select are integrated perfectly so that it becomes quite hard to detect the starting point and end point. Put more effort into achieving a seamless look that is more appealing. When choosing background loops, don’t rush in similar fashion to selecting a solid background if you are to make them appealing.
Choose a proper encoding type
The encoding your background uses should be compatible to the media you are using to record or stream your video. You shouldn’t go for heavy formats that make it hard to stream the video under normal circumstances. The frame size and the resolution you are expecting from your output also need to be given much consideration when choosing your backgrounds. In addition, you should get proper plugins that can work with any background when it comes to adding text.
